Summer is finally here…

The sun is out for a start….the breeze is warm, you can leave the windows wide open all day and into the evening without feeling cold. T-shirts and shorts are the order of the day, and lunch in the garden is once again possible. And to top it off there’s the sweet smell of BBQ in the air, oh and the World Cup starts in three days! I’m not going to talk about Wayne Rooney’s foot here, because it’ll be about the only place on the internet it’s not been covered in detail!

Yesterday I went down to London on a business trip and met with a couple of very pleasant young ladies at Polydor Records to discuss some possible work. Hopefully something will come of it, they seemed really cool and the label have some great established act and what seems like a ton of cool new acts - fingers crossed! The weather was glorious, nice and warm but with a slight breeze, so not too hot. The tube was actually bearable as well!

It feels like I’ve been chained to the computer today, but the sun, warm breeze and birds singing has meant I haven’t really minded at all. I’ve had a strange kind of day - the first half seemed really slow and like I wasn’t making any progress with anything, then the second half shot by and I feel like I’ve got lots done. I’m battling a heavy cold, which I think may be morphing into my annual hayfever which is a tad annoying, but the weather seems to be making everything better today.

The coming weekend will probably revolve around the England game on Saturday, and Jo is coming down from Manchester so I’ll be seeing her for the first time since Christmas, which will be nice. She’ll get to meet Steph for the first time too….I’m worried they could get on *too* well and I’m not sure if I can keep up drinking with them both!

Next week should be a good one, the weather looks set to be good (how British am I?) and I’m seeing the Foo Fighters twice! On Wednesday Steph and I will be seeing them playing acoustically at the Apollo Victoria theatre (very excited that Pat Smear will be back with them!) and then on Saturday, Steph, Stat, Dicko, Dave and I will be heading to Hyde Park for the full-on rock show, which includes Motorhead, QOTSA, Angels & Airwaves and Juliet & The Licks supporting. I can’t wait!

Anyway, that’s about it for now - off for some food…
